Baptism
Baptism is a rite of washing with water as a sign of religious purification. It symbolizes the admission to the church, the confession of faith in Christ, the cleansing or washing of the soul from sin, and the rebirth of the individual into a new life. It also represents the identification with Christ's death, burial, resurrection, and the move from death to life. It is usually performed by saying "I baptise you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" and immersing the person in water. It is the first step of discipleship.

"So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ."
Galatians 3:26-27
Communion
Communion is defined as "the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings on a spiritual level. Communion is sometimes referred to. as the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion. Bread is representative of the body and flesh of Jesus Christ. Wine or grape juice are representative of the blood shed by Jesus Christ on the cross. Partaking in communion is a sharing and remembrance of your covenant with God. The covenant was made possible by Christ's sacrifice. No matter the frequency of communion, it is a moment of sincerity, to come before the Lord and to soberly and humbly assess your relationship with Him. At Silver Lake Community Church,
communion is performed the first Sunday of every month.

Anointing the Sick
The annointing of the sick is a bibically based ceremony performed for the benefit of the person who is ill, frail from age or about to have a major surgery. The ceremony petitions God for the person's spiritual and physical hesling through the Holy Spirit, and is meant to unite the person with the suffering of Jesus Christ. Anointings with olive oil were commonplace in Biblical times,

The prctice of anointing the sick is based primarily on James 5:14-15, which states:

"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
James 5:14-15
